I had a stay at this hotel that had some great moments mixed with a few drawbacks. The room was very spacious and had a unique decor that felt like stepping back into the 70s, which was interesting but a bit mismatched for a luxurious stay. The service was exceptional, especially since they surprised us for our honeymoon with champagne and strawberries, making the experience feel special. While the location was decent for accessing downtown San Diego, it felt a bit isolated as there wasn’t much to walk to nearby. Overall, I derived good value for my money but expected a bit more from the dining options.

My room was exceptionally large and decorated in a unique style of reds and blues that definitely had a vintage vibe. It felt very spacious, which I appreciated.

The hotel staff provided exceptional service, particularly as they took care of my reservation issue at check-in. The surprise bottle of champagne and strawberries for our honeymoon was a delightful touch.

The outdoor space was lovely, but I didn't find much within walking distance, which made it feel a little inconvenient. It was close enough to downtown San Diego, though.
